PortaPoet is a suite of Services (including website and mobile application) developed by Artisan Engineering L.L.C. ("Artisan," "we," "us," or "our"), located at 1096 Via Roble, Lafayette CA 94549 USA. PortaPoet provides tools for writing, sharing, and interacting around poetry.
This Privacy Policy describes how and when PortaPoet collects, uses, and shares information when you use our Services. Where required by law or platform rules, we will ask for your consent separately.

Account Information: When you create a standard PortaPoet account, the account information we currently ask you to provide is:
We do not currently ask for your real name, phone number, physical address, birthdate, or precise location when you create a standard account. If we add account features that ask for additional information, we will update our disclosures as appropriate.
Content You Submit or Sync: When you submit, sync, publish, share, participate in shared features, or otherwise make content available through our servers, we store the content involved in that activity. Your username may be associated with content you publish or share. Published or shared content may be visible to other users of the Service.
Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications on your mobile device, we receive a device token from the applicable platform push notification provider, such as Apple's Push Notification service (APNS), to deliver notifications to your device. We use this token to send and manage notifications about account, content, or Service activity. You can manage or disable push notifications through your device settings.
Reports, Blocks, and Moderation Information: If you report content or another user, we collect the information included in your report so we can review it and enforce our Terms. If you block another user, we store that blocking choice so we can apply blocking-related features where supported.
Technical Information: Like most online services, our servers and service providers may automatically receive basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, app version, operating system, and server log information. We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services.
Support Communications: If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, username, screenshots, device information, and the content of your request.

Active Accounts: We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active.
Account Deletion: You may initiate account deletion from within the PortaPoet mobile app. If you cannot access the app, you may also request deletion by emailing support@portapoet.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request" and including your username. When your account deletion is processed:
We may need to verify your identity, account ownership, or authority before processing a deletion request, especially if the request is made outside the app. We aim to process deletion requests within 30 days unless a different period is required or permitted by law. Deletion from backups may occur according to our normal backup rotation, and backup data is not actively used except for disaster recovery, security, or legal needs.
Inactive Accounts: We may delete accounts that have been inactive for an extended period (typically 3+ years), and where practical we may attempt to notify you via email before deletion.
Service Wind-Down: If we discontinue the Services, we may retain information for a reasonable wind-down period and then delete or de-identify information according to this Privacy Policy, subject to backups, legal obligations, security needs, abuse-prevention needs, and records that are reasonably necessary for business or compliance purposes. Where practical, we may provide notice and an opportunity to export reasonably available account and content data before the Services are discontinued.

Access: While your account is active and the Services are available, you can access account information through the app.
Correction: You may be able to update some account information through the app. Some fields, such as username or email, may not be editable in the app where needed for account integrity, security, or content attribution. Contact us if you believe account information is inaccurate.
